What is Facebook Fortune Cookie?

In short, this is a fortune cookie for your Facebook.

To use this app, you just go to the Facebook profile it is installed on and click ‘Get a new Fortune!’

Every time you click on this link, you get a new fortune right on your profile. The messages vary from the short ‘Decide Already’ to the odd ‘Now is not the time for medical procedures’. However, some of these fortunes can be very prophetic such as ‘You will get another chance - Don’t waste it’ and ‘Never cut what can be untied’. After clicking many times, I have not yet received a fortune more than once.

The ‘Fortune Cookie’ application is fun as a diviersion, but has little practical use.

Setting it all up

To install this app, select ‘Fortune Cookie’ from the main application list. Once you are on the homepage for the application, click the ‘Add Application’ button. Then, you will be taken to a page where you select the options related to the installation. After you have chosen your options, click on the ‘Add Fortune Cookie’ button.

This application is easy to install, but you must bypass some advertisements for the ‘FunWall’ application and a movie trailer. This is frustrating because there isn’t a button to go to the application directly. Instead, you just view the app on your profile. Other applications did not have these advertisements after installation and took you directly to the main app page.

Pros

This application succeeds in being a really simple, fun application. It is easy to install and use, which is basically all you can ask for from this type of application.

Cons

As far as the current application is concerned, everything works as expected and there is no need for improvement. However, because this application is really limited in scope, there are many opportunities for feature enhancements in the future, should the authors choose to implement them.

The application is simple and does what you would expect from a fortune cookie application. There is definitely room to expand the scope of this app and integrate additional features. The developer will need to continue improving this application in order to expand its user base and maintain the popularity it currently has.
